Driver Injured in Big Rig Crash on Interstate 80 in Colfax

Colfax, California (January 16, 2020) – According to a local news source, one person was injured Wednesday in a rear-end crash in Colfax.

The accident took place Wednesday, January 15 in the westbound lanes of Interstate 80.

As per the report, a delivery truck was traveling on the highway when it veered off the roadway and rear-ended a stopped big rig on the shoulder of Interstate 80.

The driver of the delivery truck was trapped in the wreckage and had to extricated by firefighters. The victim was then transported to Sutter Roseville with moderate injuries.

Police closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 for two hours during the investigation. All lanes of the interstate were reopened Wednesday evening.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
