1 Hurt in Big Rig Crash on Interstate 80 in Placer County
1 Injured in Placer County Truck Accident on Interstate 80 near Nyack
Placer County, California (January 29, 2020) – One person sustained injuries following a traffic accident that happened Tuesday evening in Placer County, according to a local news source.
The wreck occurred just before noon on Interstate 80, just east of Nyack.
As per the report, five big rigs collided on eastbound Interstate 80. The force of the impact caused one of the big rigs to overturn on the center median at Nyack.
Paramedics responded to the scene and rendered aid to one person who was injured as a result of the crash. However, the name of the patient and their condition were not immediately available.
Approximately 25 gallons of oil and several gallons of almond milk spilled on the highway and a hazmat crew was dispatched to the scene to clean up.
The roadway was cleared as of 5:30 p.m.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
