Antone Bayar Arrested After Deadly Hit-and-Run Crash in Desert Hot Springs

63-Year-Old Aguanga Woman Dies Following Fatal Desert Hot Springs Car Crash on State Route 371 near Wilson Valley Road; Antone Bayard Arrested

Desert Hot Springs, California (January 29, 2020) – Antone Bayard, of Anza, has been arrested following a hit-and-run accident that left one person dead in Desert Hot Springs early this month.

The fatal three-car crash happened at around 6:15 a.m. Friday, January 3 on State Route 371, just north of Wilson Valley Road.

Three vehicles collided on State Route 371 for unknown reasons, authorities said.

A 63-year-old Aguanga woman was killed in the crash. Her name has not been disclosed.

Bayard did stop to render aid and fled the scene on foot after the accident.

On Tuesday, January 28, Bayard was arrested in the Desert Hot Springs area for murder and hit and run causing serious or fatal injuries.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
