Wrong-Way DUI Crash on Waterman Boulevard in Fairfield Leaves Motorcyclist with Serious Injuries
Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Fairfield Crash at Waterman Boulevard and Edmonton Drive Wednesday morning
Fairfield, California (May 15, 2020) – A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries Wednesday morning in a wrong-way DUI car accident in Fairfield, according to authorities.
At around 4:40 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, officers responded to the area of Waterman Boulevard and Edmonton Drive, for a report of a traffic accident involving a vehicle and a motorcycle, authorities said.
A sport utility vehicle reportedly veered across the double yellow line and struck a motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist, whose name has not been disclosed, was taken to a nearby trauma center for treatment of major injuries.
The driver of the SUV, Joshua Acup, 32, Citrus Heights, was arrested and booked into the Solano County jail on suspicion of driving the wrong way and DUI causing bodily injury or death. He was being held on a $50,000 bail.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
