Woman Killed in Oakland Car Accident on Grand Avenue Identified
Brooke Smith Killed in Oakland Crash at Grand Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard
Oakland, California (January 22, 2020) – Authorities have identified the woman who was killed early Sunday morning in a traffic accident in Oakland.
Brooke Smith, 42, died in the crash that happened at about 1:00 a.m. Sunday, January 19 at the intersection of Grand Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2002 Subaru Outback, driven by Smith, was heading eastbound on MacArthur Boulevard when it was hit by a 2014 Audi A4 that was traveling southbound on Grand Avenue.
Smith was taken to Highland Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
The Audi driver did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.
Officers are still looking for the hit-and-run driver.
The accident remains under investigation.
