Pedestrian Walking Dog Killed in Costa Mesa Hit-and-Run Crash at Mesa Drive and Irvine Avenue

Costa Mesa, California – Due to the Costa Mesa hit-and-run accident that occurred in the area of Mesa Drive and Irvine Avenue on Sunday morning, the authorities are investigating the matter.

At around 6:53 am, a woman was on the crosswalk walking her dog when she was hit by a silver sedan that was traveling south on Irvine Avenue; the California Highway Patrol stated.

Following the accident, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. However, the pedestrian as well as the dog were killed.

The police have believed that the suspect was driving a Toyota Camry or a Mitsubishi with a spoiler.

No more information was released.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
