Woman in Coma after Fresno Pedestrian Crash on East California near Edison High School

Fresno, California (February 26, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Wednesday morning pedestrian crash that left a woman in a coma in Fresno.

At about 7:00 a.m., a woman was struck by a car at East California, between Fruit and Thorne near Edison High School.

Lanes on California Avenue between Thorne Avenue and Fruit Avenue were blocked following the accident.

The involved motorist stopped and cooperated with the police.

The crash remains under investigation.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
