Woman Hit, Killed by Amtrak Train in Richmond

Woman Dies Following Fatal Richmond Pedestrian Accident on Capitol Corridor Route 

Richmond, California (February 11, 2020) – A woman died after being hit by an Amtrak Capitol Corridor train in Richmond Monday morning, police said.

The fatal crash happened on the Capitol Corridor route at around 10:10 a.m. Monday, February 10.

According to the police, train No. 531 was traveling from Sacramento to Oakland when it struck the woman who was trespassing on the tracks.

The woman, whose name was not immediately disclosed, died at the scene.

None of 65 passengers and crew members on board the train were hurt.

The train was delayed for more than 2 hours following the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
