Virl Grier Fatal Marina Pedestrian Crash on Imjin Parkway near 3rd Street

Marina, California (January 23, 2020) – 76-year-old Virl Grierof Marina has been identified as the man in a wheelchair who was struck and killed by a vehicle on Tuesday in Marina, police said.

The crash was reported on Tuesday, January 21, on Imjin Parkway, near 3rd street.

According to Marina Police, Grier was in a wheelchair trying to cross a Marina street when a vehicle struck him. Grier had just left a physical therapy session at Montage and was returning to the Veterans Transition Center, where he was staying.

Grier was killed in the accident.

No other details of the crash were immediately released.

The crash is still under investigation.
