Authorities Identify Man Killed in Arvin Car Crash at SR 223 and Fairfax Road as Victor Cruz

Arvin, California (May 5, 2020) – Authorities have identified the man who was killed in a car accident Monday morning in Arvin.

Victor Paul Cruz, 32, of Bakersfield, died in the crash that happened at about 5:15 a.m. May 4 in the area of SR 223 and Fairfax Road.

A Lexus, driven by Cruz, was speeding on Fairfax Road, passing several unsafe passes when it failed to make a complete stop at the intersection, authorities said.

The Lexus was then struck on the driver side by a Mini Cooper that was traveling westbound on SR 223. Due to the force of the impact, the Lexus veered off the road and into a field.

A Toyota Tundra traveling eastbound on SR 223 also sideswiped the Mini Cooper, according to the CHP.

Cruz was declared dead at the scene.

Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the wreck.

An investigation into the crash is underway.

Managing Partner and CEO Alpine Law Group, Mr. Arin Khodaverdian believes that car accident claims are rarely straightforward regardless of the circumstances involved. “Liable insurance companies will often do everything possible to limit their out-of-pocket expenses by either devaluing or outright denying your claim and it is crucial, therefore, to have an experienced attorney on your side,” He said.

Mr. Khodaverdian has worked for many years as a wrongful death and personal injury attorney. He and his team of attorneys has helped thousands of injury victims and their families recover over $100 million in compensation. “In one case, we recovered a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim who was killed by a negligent driver.”

Swift action by an experienced attorney helps preserve evidence, interview witnesses, and begin to pursue those responsible for the incident.
