Victim Killed in Fresno Traffic Accident near Olive and Cedar Avenues ID’d as Guy Shearer

Roger Harris Arrested after Fresno Traffic Crash near Olive and Cedar Avenues

Fresno, California (April 25, 2020) – 48-year-old Guy Shearer has been identified as the victim killed in an alleged hit-and-run crash that happened at the intersection of Fresno Street and Olive Avenue in Fresno at around 3:30 p.m. April 23.

The accident happened when police pulled over a red Mustang operated by 33-year-old Roger Harris at the intersection, near Olive and Cedar avenues, and noticed he had a gun in his vehicle. The police chase then began after Harris sped off eastbound on Olive Avenue.

The pursuit came to an end when Harris’ vehicle veered from the eastbound lane into the path of oncoming traffic and collided with an oncoming pickup truck driven by Shearer.

Sadly, Shearer was declared deceased at the scene Thursday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Harris got out of his Mustang after the wreck and escaped the scene. Officers later arrested the suspect, and he is facing charges of homicide, resisting arrest, felony DUI, and being a felon in possession of a handgun.

The accident remains under an active investigation.
