1 Killed in Valencia Rollover Crash at Newhall Ranch and Rye Canyon Roads

Valencia, California (January 10, 2020) – One person was killed in a rollover crash that took place in the Valencia neighborhood at about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, a local news source reported.

The fatal accident was reported on Thursday, January 9, in the area of Newhall Ranch and Rye Canyon roads.

According to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, the accident involved two vehicles that crashed near the intersection for reasons still under an active investigation.

Due to the impact, one of the vehicles involved plunged down an embankment about 20 feet.

The initial report showed that the vehicle rolled over multiple times and acquired heavy damage following the crash.

A male motorist was sadly pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department officials along with the paramedics.

Deputies did not disclose the identity of the deceased victim.

It was not clear whether or not there were other people injured in the wreck.

The accident resulted in the closure of two westbound lanes on Newhall Ranch Road for an unknown time.
