Man Killed in Ukiah Pedestrian Crash on Highway 101 near Burke Hill Road
Ukiah, California (January 21, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of a pedestrian accident that resulted in the death of a male victim in Ukiah late on Sunday night.
The pedestrian collision happened at about 10:30 p.m. January 19, on northbound Highway 101 south of the Burke Hill Road overpass.
As per the report, a male pedestrian walking on the highway was struck by a silver Ford F-150 driven by 22-year-old John Ibanez of Reedley northbound on the freeway.
The manner in which the accident occurred was not immediately disclosed.
Ibanez stopped after hitting the man and cooperated with the investigation.
The pedestrian was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
The CHP is still investigating the cause of the fatal crash.
