Teddy Woods Killed in Pomona Truck Yard Accident on Ficus Street

Pomona, California (December 16, 2019) – The Louisiana resident killed after a truck yard crash on Saturday night has been identified as 57-year-old Teddy Woods, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatal collision occurred at about 11:05 p.m. Saturday, December 14, at 2894 Ficus Street.

Authorities said Woods, who was standing near or between two empty unhitched truck trailers, was directing a truck driver pulling out of a parking space. The backing motorist struck one of the trailers while Woods lost his balance and crashed his head into the side of the second trailer.

Firefighters responded to the scene and declared Woods dead.

Alcohol or drugs were not suspected to be factors in the collision.

Officials said the driver involved had a valid commercial driver’s license and was not a California resident.
