At Least 1 Hurt in Hayward Accident on 880 Freeway near Winton Avenue

Hayward, California (December 9, 2019) – Authorities are investigating a minor injury crash that left at least one person hurt Monday morning in the area of Hayward.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at about 10:00 a.m. Monday, on southbound 880 Freeway, just north of Winton Avenue.

Officials said a big rig and two other vehicles collided for reasons yet to be determined.

An ambulance was sent to the scene to render aid to at least one person who complained of pain following the collision. The victim’s name and their current condition were not immediately provided.

The vehicles were towed away from the scene.

Authorities issued a SigAlert blocking the lanes. All lanes were opened as of 10:43 a.m.
