Sanford Reed ID’d as Victim Killed in Palm Desert Pedestrian Accident at Monterey Avenue and Hovley Lane
Palm Desert, California (June 14, 2020) – The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has identified Sanford Reed, 25, as the victim who was hit and killed by a car on Thursday night in Palm Desert.
At around 10:00 p.m., on June 11, the authorities responded to the deadly crash at the intersection of Monterey Avenue and Hovley Lane.
Reed was crossing the intersection at a crosswalk when, for unknown reasons, he was struck by a vehicle, the police said.
Reed was taken to Eisenhower Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The involved driver remained at the scene and was cooperative, said the officials.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
