Coroner Identify Man Killed in San Francisco Pedestrian Accident at Taylor Street and Geary Street as Rui Xai Zhen
San Francisco, California (March 2, 2020) – The San Francisco coroner’s office has identified the man who was struck and killed by a public works truck Sunday morning at an intersection in the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco.
Rui Xai Zhen, 67, of San Francisco, died in the accident that happened at around 7:30 a.m. Sunday, March 1 at the intersection of Taylor and Geary streets.
Police said a San Francisco city street cleaner was driving a pickup truck northbound on Taylor Street and was making a left turn onto Geary Street when he hit Zhen.
Zhen was taken to San Francisco General where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The pickup truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police
An investigation into the accident is underway.
