Man Hit, Killed by Vehicle on Camino Del Norte in Lake Elsinore
Man Dies Following Fatal Lake Elsinore Pedestrian Accident on Camino Del Norte at 2nd Street
Lake Elsinore, California (March 2, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a traffic accident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle that occurred in the 18800 block of Camino Del Norte in Lake Elsinore early Monday morning.
The authorities said a man was at the intersection of Camino Del Norte and 2nd Street at about 3:14 a.m. when a vehicle struck him.
The man, whose name has not been disclosed pending notification of family, died as a result of the accident.
The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the crash.
Camino Del Norte was blocked while the investigation took place.
A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
