Rosa Parra ID’d as Woman Killed in Fresno County Big Rig Accident on Floral and Alta Avenues

Fresno County, California (April 26, 2020) – The woman who was killed in a truck accident on Friday morning near Dinuba in Fresno County has been identified as Rosa Parra, 39, of Cutler, according to authorities.

The crash happened at about 11:28 a.m., on April 24, at Floral and Alta Avenues.

The CHP said a Toyota van, driven by Parra, was traveling westbound towards a stop sign on Floral Avenue. At the same time, another truck was approaching Floral Avenue intersection with no stop sign.

The truck reportedly struck the Toyota on the passenger’s side. The crash impact sent the Toyota onto the pathway of another big rig, which hit it on the driver’s side. The big rig lost control and overturned.

One of the trucks caught fire after the crash. The fire was put off by the fire crews who responded to the mishap.

Parra was pronounced dead at the scene.

One of the truck drivers was hospitalized in unknown condition.

Drugs or alcohol were not believed to have played a role in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
