Robert James Arrested after Fatal Hit-And-Run Manteca Bicycle Accident on South Main Street

Bicyclist Struck and Killed by Vehicle on South Main Street in Manteca

Manteca, California (January 6, 2020) – A bicyclist was struck and killed by an alleged hit-and-run driver in the area of Manteca on Sunday night.

The fatal bicycle collision, which happened at around 11:15 p.m. January 5, occurred in the 1100 block of South Main Street 

The precious circumstances that lead to the accident were not disclosed.

The bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene despite life-saving measures from police and paramedics.

Meanwhile, the suspected hit-and-run driver, who was identified as 36-year-old Robert James, was later located and arrested by the police.

James was transported into the San Joaquin County Jail on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run, and DUI.

The detectives handling the case are gathering more evidence to determine the cause of the accident.
