Man Sustains Critical Injuries in Rancho Bernardo Motorcycle Accident on Pomerado Road

Rancho Bernardo, California (May 1, 2020) – An 18-year-old man was critically injured in a motorcycle accident that happened along Pomerado Road just south of Rancho Bernardo Road at around 4:45 p.m. Thursday, a local news source reported.

The accident began when a 2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser, driven by an 80-year-old woman south on the highway, made a left turn onto Caminito Vecinos. A 2009 Triumph Daytona 675 motorcycle operated by the male party north on Pomerado Road broadsided the front passenger door of the Chrysler after the car drove into the path of the rider.

Due to the impact, the man was ejected from his motorcycle.

The unidentified motorcyclist was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, including a brain bleed and facial trauma.

The female motorist was not hurt in the wreck.

The San Diego Police Department’s traffic division is investigating the cause of the accident.
