Raymond Rangel Identified as Victim Killed in San Bernardino Pedestrian Accident on North Rancho Avenue

San Bernardino, California (December 27, 2019) – Authorities have identified the pedestrian who was hit and killed by a vehicle Tuesday night in San Bernardino as Raymond Angelo Rangel, 57, of San Bernardino.

The deadly crash occurred at around 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, December 24 on North Rancho Avenue, about 464 feet south of the intersection of East Foothill Blvd. and North Rancho Avenue.

According to authorities, a vehicle was heading southbound on N. Rancho Avenue when it struck Rangel, who was pushing a shopping cart across N. Rancho Avenue in a southeast direction near the intersection.

Rangel was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:23 p.m.

It is still unclear if speed or alcohol were suspected factors in the accident.

A video showed a dark-colored sedan leaving the area at a high rate of speed after the accident. According to witnesses, a 2016-2017 black Honda Civic was seen leaving the area after the crash.
