Rafael Garcia and Jeffrey LaChance Hurt in Cambria Crash at Highway 1 and Weymouth Street

Cambria, California (January 7, 2020) – 35-year-old Rafael Garcia and 63-year-old Jeffrey LaChance were hurt after a car crash on Monday morning in Cambria, according to authorities.

The crash happened at about 9:35 a.m. Monday, January 6, at Highway 1 and Weymouth Street.

As per the CHP officials, LaChance was driving a Ford van when he stopped for a stop sign on westbound Weymouth Street at the intersection of Highway 1. A delivery truck then hit his van as he entered the intersection.

The truck driven by Garcia was heading southbound on Highway 1. The impact caused the van to crash into a power pole and it overturned onto its roof.

LaChance suffered possible severe injuries and was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment. Garcia suffered minor injuries and was taken to Twin Cities Community Hospital for treatment.

Officials did not believe alcohol or drugs to be factors in the accident.

An investigation is underway.
