37-Year-Old Pomona Man Dies in Chino Bicycle Crash on Philadelphia Street near Bridger Avenue
Chino, California (February 2, 2020) – A bicyclist was killed in a collision with a vehicle in Chino Saturday evening, police said.
At about 7:24 p.m. Saturday, February 1, the officers received a report about the accident in the 5100 block of Philadelphia Street near Bridger Avenue.
According to the police, the bicyclist, only identified as a 37-year-old Pomona man, was riding his bicycle on Philadelphia Street when, for undetermined reasons, a vehicle struck him.
First responders arrived at the location and found the bicycle rider lying unresponsive on the pavement. He was transported to Chino Valley Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
It remains unclear whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
