Driver Injured in Fatal San Diego Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 8 near Taylor Street

San Diego, California (December 8, 2019) – A pedestrian was killed and a driver seriously injured in Sunday evening accident in San Diego, Police said.

The fatal crash took place at about 5:56 p.m. December 8, on westbound interstate 8 near Taylor Street.

According to the San Diego Fire Department, the pedestrian was on westbound Interstate 8 when a vehicle struck them for unknown reasons.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. 

The driver of the vehicle involved suffered major injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The identity of the driver and the deceased pedestrian were not released immediately.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
