Woman Hospitalized After Riverside Pedestrian Accident on La Sierra Avenue Near Cypress Avenue

Riverside, California (January 5, 2020) – A pedestrian was seriously injured in a traffic collision that happened in Riverside on Saturday evening. 

According to Riverside police, the pedestrian accident happened on La Sierra Avenue just south of Cypress Avenue shortly after 6:00 p.m. January 4.

Police said the accident involved a female party believed to be in her 30s or 40s and a vehicle of unspecified built.

The pedestrian was hit by a vehicle while walking on the highway for undisclosed reasons

The victim was rushed to a hospital for treatment of major injuries sustained in the wreck.

Meanwhile, the involved driver stopped and cooperated with the law.

All southbound lanes of La Sierra Avenue at Cypress Avenue were closed down for an unknown time.

Alcohol or drugs were not believed to be factors in the accident.

The cause of the accident remains under an active investigation.
