Pedestrian Killed inTrain on Anacapa Street in Ventura

Woman Killed in Ventura Train Crash on Anacapa Street

Ventura, California (March 2, 2020) – A Woman was struck and killed by a train on the tracks west of Anacapa Street in Ventura, as per a police report.

The Ventura Police Department responded to the deadly crash on Saturday, February 29, at around 4:55 p.m.

 The pedestrian was reportedly lying on the tracks when an Amtrak train hit her.

According to the conductor, they made all emergency attempts to stop the train, but they couldn’t get the train to stop in time, and it accidentally struck the woman.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim was not released, pending notification of the next of kin.

The train was delayed for around two hours.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation.
