Pedestrian Dies in Dana Point Train Collision near Palisades Drive

Dana Point, California (January 3, 2020) – A Metrolink train struck and killed a pedestrian on the tracks Thursday afternoon in Dana Point.

According to a local news source, the deadly accident took place on the train tracks near Palisades Drive at around 4:53 p.m. on Thursday, January 2.

The Inland Empire-Orange County Line 812 struck an unidentified person on the tracks for unknown reasons. The pedestrian was killed in the accident.

The train was stopped on the tracks between San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano Metro stations as officials investigated the crash.

No other injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
