Pedestrian Hospitalized After Being Struck by Car in Mountain View

Man Injured in Mountain View Pedestrian Accident on Shoreline Boulevard and El Camino Real

Mountain View, California (February 13, 2020) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after being hit by a car in the area of Shoreline Boulevard and El Camino Real in Mountain View Tuesday night, authorities said.

The pedestrian, a 79-year-old man, was at the intersection of Shoreline Boulevard and El Camino Real at around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, when a black Mercedes-Benz sedan hit him.

The man was transported to a hospital in an unknown condition.

Alcohol or drugs were not suspected to be factors in the collision.

The accident remains under investigation.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
