Person Killed in South Los Angeles Pedestrian Crash on South Hill Street; Suspect Arrested
South Los Angeles, California (February 7, 2020) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday morning in South Los Angeles, according to police.
The crash happened at about 1:00 a.m., February 6, on South Hill Street near the West Adams Boulevard intersection.
The police said a 34-year-old man was hit by a Toyota Prius traveling southbound on Hill Street. The 34-year-old man was not in the crosswalk when he was struck. His name was not disclosed.
The involved driver fled the scene and abandoned the vehicle near 30th Street.
Bloodhounds were deployed to the scene and were able to pick a scent and tracked the man up to his premises. The man was taken into custody.
An investigation is underway.
