Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Vehicle on Oakland Road at McKay Drive in San Jose

63-Year-Old Woman Dies Following Fatal San Jose Pedestrian Accident on Oakland Road at McKay Drive

San Jose, California (December 29, 2019) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle Saturday evening while attempting to cross a street north of downtown San Jose, authorities said.

The fatal pedestrian accident took place at around 5:45 p.m. Saturday, December 28 on Oakland Road at McKay Drive.

According to the authorities, the pedestrian, only identified as a 63-year-old woman, was attempting to cross the street outside of a crosswalk when she was struck by a 2008 Toyota Tundra that was traveling southbound on Oakland Road.

The woman, whose name was withheld pending family notification, was taken to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the accident.
