68-Year-Old Woman Killed in Mira Mesa Pedestrian Accident at Black Mountain Road and Mira Mesa Boulevard

Mira Mesa, California (December 15, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday afternoon in Mira Mesa, authorities said.

The deadly pedestrian accident happened at around 2:50 p.m. Saturday, December 14 in the 10800 block of Black Mountain Road at Mira Mesa Boulevard.

According to police, the pedestrian, identified as a 68-year-old woman, was walking on the sidewalk in front of the Bank of America driveway when she attempted to cross and was struck by a 2006 Ford F250.

The woman was declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the Ford, a 43-year-old man, attempted to flee the scene but was detained.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
