Man Killed in Compton Pedestrian Crash on 91 Freeway at Wilmington Avenue

Fatal Pedestrian Accident on 91 Freeway

Compton, California (January 1, 2020) – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning on 91 Freeway in Compton, a local news source reported.

Authorities said the pedestrian was lying in the No. 3 lane of the freeway at Willington Avenue at about 5:30 a.m.

The victim was a man of approximately 45 years.

Compton Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead at the scene at 5:47 a.m.

A witness told authorities that vehicles were swerving to avoid the body and that a car with damage consistent with a traffic crash was nearby.

The crash is under an active investigation.
