2 Injured in Bakersfield Pedestrian Crash at River Boulevard and Knotts Street
Bakersfield, California (January 29, 2020) – Two people were struck and injured by an alleged DUI driver on Tuesday evening in Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at about 6:40 p.m., January 28, at the intersection of River Boulevard and Knotts Street near Highway 178 and Jefferson Park.
The CHP officials said two persons were walking in a crosswalk at the intersection when an SUV turned on Knotts Street and hit the two pedestrians.
The two pedestrians suffered minor injuries and were treated by responding paramedics. Officials did not confirm if the victims were taken to the hospital for further treatment.
The names and the current conditions of the patients were not disclosed.
Police confirmed the SUV driver was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
