Officer, 3 Civilians Injured in Chula Vista Crash on Telegraph Canyon Road

Chula Vista Police Officer among 4 Injured in Multi-Car Accident at Telegraph Canyon Road and Paseo Ranchero

Chula Vista, California (January 27, 2020) – A Chula Vista police officer and three civilians were hospitalized early Sunday morning after a traffic crash in Chula Vista, a local news source report.

The wreck took place at about 12:40 a.m. Sunday, January 26 in the area of Telegraph Canyon Road and Paseo Ranchero.

Authorities said a Scion TC was traveling westbound on Telegraph Canyon Road when it rear-ended a police vehicle before hitting a Honda CRV stopped in the left turn pocket of the Chula Vista intersection.

The officer was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Scion driver, the driver and passenger of the CRV also suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities later arrested the driver of the Scion on suspicion of DUI.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
