Off-Duty Corrections Officer Killed in Motorcycle Accident on Avenue J at Valley Central Way in Lancaster ID’d as George Rodriguez

45-Year-Old George Rodriguez Killed in Lancaster Motorcycle Crash on Avenue J at Valley Central Way

Lancaster, California (January 3, 2020) – The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office has identified a corrections officer killed in Lancaster traffic collision on Tuesday morning as 45-year-old George Luis Rodriguez of Fontana.

The collision was reported at approximately 11:00 a.m. December 31, on Avenue J at Valley Central Way.

As per the report, a 2012 Honda CRV driven by Lonny Quintana of Lancaster collided with a 2013 Suzuki motorcycle ridden by Rodriguez westbound on Avenue J.

The initial report indicated that Quintana turned into the path of the motorbike before the occurrence of the crash.

Rodriguez died at Antelope Valley Hospital, where he was admitted after the accident.

Officials believed impairment was not a factor in the accident, but speed appeared to be at least a contributing factor for the rider.

The accident remains under an active investigation.
