Nancy Sanchez Killed in Delano Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99

Delano, California (May 5, 2020) – 29-year-old woman Nancy Sylvia Sanchez, of Delano, has been identified as the woman who died following a pedestrian accident that happened near Highway 155 in Delano Friday night , the Kern County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Sanchez was walking in the lanes of Highway 99 when she was hit by a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban that was heading southbound on the highway at about 11:44 p.m. May 2.

Sadly, Sanchez died in the crash.

The involved motorist was not injured following the accident.

The fatal accident remains under an active investigation.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
