Motorcyclist Killed in Saratoga Crash on Highway 9

Rider Killed in Saratoga Motorcycle Accident on Highway 9 near Heather Heights Road

Santa Clara County, California (January 19, 2020) – A motorcycle rider was killed Saturday afternoon in a traffic accident in Santa Clara County near the Santa Cruz County line, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The deadly crash took place at about 4:15 p.m. Saturday, January 18 near the intersection of Highway 9 and Heather Heights Road.

The CHP said a motorcycle and a red Toyota collided for undetermined reasons near the intersection.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and found the rider laying down on the roadway. Details about the crash are limited at this time, but the CHP officers said one person died as a result of the crash.

The name of the deceased person has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
