Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Interstate 80 in Citrus Heights

Rider Dies in Fatal Citrus Heights Motorcycle Accident on Interstate 80 near Antelope Weigh Scales

Citrus Heights, California (January 19, 2020) – A motorcycle rider was killed early Saturday morning in a collision with a truck in Citrus Heights, a local news source reported.

The deadly accident happened at about 2:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18 Crash on Interstate 80 near Antelope weigh scales.

The California Highway Patrol said a 38-year-old Los Angeles man was riding a motorcycle on Interstate 80 when for an unknown reason, he crashed into the rear of a Ford Fusion that was traveling in front of him.

Due to the impact, the rider and the bike slid on the roadway where a truck struck him.

The sedan driver, a 58-year-old Citrus Heights woman and the truck, a 64-year-old Granite Bay man, stopped at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

It remains unclear if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
