20-Year-Old Moreno Valley Woman Dies Following Fatal Westley Truck Accident on Highway 33 near Stanislaus Road

Stanislaus County, California (January 10, 2020) – A 20-year-old Moreno Valley woman was killed Thursday afternoon in a head-on crash in Westley, Stanislaus County, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The deadly crash happened at around 12:10 p.m. Thursday, January 9 on Highway 33, just north of Stanislaus Road

According to the CHP, the 20-year-old Moreno Valley woman was driving her Hyundai northbound on Highway 33, behind a big rig when she tried to overtake the big rig and crossed the broken yellow center line.

The Hyundai reportedly entered the southbound lane and collided head-on with another big rig. The big rig the Moreno Valley woman was passing also was struck during the crash.

The Moreno Valley woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.

The drivers of the two big rigs were uninjured in the crash.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the collision.

The CHP is investigating the accident.
