34-Year-Old Moreno Valley Man Killed, 1 Injured in Riverside Car Accident at Campus Parkway and Day Street Monday morning

Riverside, California (April 6, 2020) – A two-vehicle crash in Riverside claimed the life of a 34-year-old Moreno Valley man Monday morning and left one other person with injuries, according to authorities.

The fatal crash occurred at around 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of Campus Parkway and Day Street.

Authorities said the 34-year-old Moreno Valley man was driving his 2009 Dodge Avenger westbound on Campus Parkway when he ran a red light at the intersection and collided with a southbound 2018 Ford Focus.

The Dodge then crashed into a brick wall at the southwest corner of the Riverside intersection.

The driver of the Dodge was taken to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.

The Ford driver, a 51-year-old Moreno Valley man, sustained minor injuries in the crash. It was not immediately known if he was taken to a hospital for treatment.

It is undetermined whether drugs or alcohol were suspected factors in the crash. The crash is still under investigation.
