Matthew Carmona Dies after Pedestrian Accident on 15 Freeway in Fontana
Matthew Carmona Identified as Man Killed in Fontana Pedestrian Crash on 15 Freeway near Glen Helen Parkway
Fontana, California (April 2, 2020) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on Sunday night in Fontana, according to officials.
The crash occurred on 15 Freeway, just south of Glen Helen Parkway just before 9:00 p.m. on March 29.
The police said Matthew Enrique Carmona, 20, of Hesperia, was operating a black 2008 Honda Civic when it ran out of gas on the freeway.
Carmona and his passenger reportedly crossed the highway to get help, and as they were heading back to their vehicle, Carmona was hit by a silver Honda Civic.
Following the accident, Carmona was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger was not hurt.
The involved driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
