Devante Edmond Arrested After Stockton Hit-and-Run Crash on 9th Street
Johnathan Mitchell Seriously Hurt in Stockton Hit-and-Run Accident on Ninth Street
Stockton, California (April 2, 2020) – One-year-old Johnathan Mitchell has been identified as the juvenile who was struck and critically injured by an alleged hit-and-run driver in Stockton Sunday afternoon ,March 22.
According to the Stockton Police Department, Mitchell was hit by a silver sedan driven by 23-year-old Devante Edmond along the 1500 block of East Ninth Street at around 5:55 p.m.
Edmond did not stop to render aid to Mitchell and fled the scene.
Mitchell sustained serious injuries in the crash. Medical personnel, along with Fire department officials, rendered aid to Mitchell and then transported him to UC Davis Children’s Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Edmond was found and arrested by police Wednesday on suspicion of felony hit-and-run charge. He was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail, where he is being held on $255,000 bail.
The investigation is underway.
