Mary Lacerte Killed in Phelan Car Crash on Palmdale Road and Sheep Creek Road
Phelan, California (April 17, 2020) – Mary Lynn Lacerte, 23, of Pinon Hills, has been identified as the driver who was killed in a head-on car crash that also left two other people dead on Thursday afternoon in Phelan, according to authorities.
The deadly crash occurred in the area of Palmdale Road and Sheep Creek Road at around 4:03 p.m. on April 16.
The police said Lacerte was driving a green 1993 Honda Accord hatchback when, for unknown reasons, her car collided head-on with a 2002 BMW 330CI on Highway 18, east of Minero Road.
One of the drivers was suspected of having been traveling the wrong way. Both cars stopped on the south shoulder of the highway after the crash, the officials said.
Lacerte and her passenger and the BMW driver were all declared dead at the scene.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
