Indio Pedestrian Accident at Fred Waring Drive and Burr Street Sent One to Hospital 

Indio, California (December 11, 2019) – A male pedestrian was transported to the hospital after being involved in a traffic collision that took place in Indio on Tuesday afternoon.

The pedestrian collision was reported at about 1:20 p.m. on December 10, at the intersection of Fred Waring Drive and Burr Street.

The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while walking at the intersection for unknown reasons.

The victim was found lying in the roadway next to a White Nissan by paramedics. He was transported to an area hospital by an Indio Fire Department/CAL FIRE ambulance for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Officials said the driver of the involved vehicle stopped after the collision and cooperated with authorities’ investigation.

The crash resulted in the closure of eastbound lanes of Fred Waring Drive between Burr Street and Madison Street up to about 3:00 p.m.

 The Indio Police Traffic Team is investigating the cause of the accident.
