Man Struck and Injured by Car on Beyer Boulevard in Otay Mesa West
69-Year-Old Man Hospitalized after Otay Mesa West Pedestrian Accident on Beyer Boulevard
Otay Mesa West, California (April 12, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Saturday night pedestrian accident that left one person nursing injuries in Otay Mesa West community of San Diego.
The accident happened in the 3000 block of Beyer Boulevard, a few minutes to 8:45 p.m., on April 11.
The police said a 2001 Mercedes-Benz C240, driven by a 19-year-old man, was traveling northbound on Beyer Boulevard when it struck a male pedestrian. The male pedestrian, a 69-year-old man, was walking southbound in the No. 1 lane of the roadway.
Following the accident, the 69-year-old man was taken to a hospital with open fractures to his left tibia, fibula, and other injuries.
The driver of the involved vehicle was unhurt.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
