Man Hurt in Bakersfield Bicycle Accident at Bernard and Miller Streets

Bakersfield, California (December 31, 2019) – A man was severely injured after a motorized bicycle crash Monday evening in the area of East Bakersfield, according to authorities.

The collision happened at around 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 30, at Bernard and Miller streets.

As per the CHP officials, a pickup truck was turning left onto Miller Street when for an unknown reason; it struck a man riding a motorized bike eastbound. The man was lying on the sidewalk following the crash.

The man was taken to the hospital by responding paramedics for treatment of a leg injury.

The pickup truck driver remained at the crash site following the collision.

Authorities did not suspect alcohol or drugs to be factors in the collision.

An investigation is ongoing.
