75-Year-Old Pacifica Man Critically Injured in Pacifica Bicycle Accident on Highway 1 near Westport Avenue
Pacifica, California (January 24, 2019) – 75-year-old Pacifica man was severely injured in a bicycle crash on Thursday afternoon in Pacifica, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The collision happened a while before 2:12 p.m. on January 23, on northbound Highway 1, south of Westport Avenue.
As per the report, the man was struck by a vehicle for unknown reasons.
Responding emergency crews found the man lying unconscious in the roadway. The male rider was transported to a trauma center with severe injuries. The patient was listed in a critical condition.
Officials confirmed that the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officials. Several other motorists reportedly stopped to assist the patient and provided statements to the authorities.
