Pedestrian Severely Hurt in La Mesa Pedestrian Accident on Grossmont Center Drive at Center Drive

La Mesa, California (January 8, 2020) – A man was severely hurt after a major La Mesa pedestrian collision that took place Tuesday night, according to authorities.

The collision happened at around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, on Grossmont Center Drive at Center Drive.

As per the CHP officials, a 2004 Nissan SUV was turning onto Grossmont Center from Center Drive when it struck a man walking in a crosswalk for unknown reasons.

The man suffered severe injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The Nissan driver, identified as a 41-year-old Poway resident, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

No additional details regarding this collision were provided.

The incident remains under investigation.
