Authorities Identify Man Killed in Fairfield Car Accident on Interstate 80 near Travis Boulevard as Luis Perez-Vazquez

Fairfield, California (March 10, 2020) – Authorities have identified Luis Perez Vazquez, 34, of Fairfield, as the man who died following a traffic accident that happened Saturday night in Fairfield.

On March 7, at around 8:50 a.m., the officers received a report about the accident on Interstate Highway 80, just east of Travis Boulevard.

Authorities said Vazquez was driving westbound on Interstate Highway 80 when he collided with another car and slammed into the center barrier.

Vazquez then got out of his vehicle and was hit by another vehicle. The impact threw him into the eastbound lanes of Highway 80, where several other vehicles struck him.

Vazquez died at the scene.

Two drivers involved in the collisions remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

Alcohol or drugs were considered a factor in the accident in the initial collision.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
